Remote appointment process

How phone, Zoom, and secure-upload filings work:

  1. Secure upload link. After intake, you'll receive a secure portal link to upload IDs, W-2s, 1099s, and supporting documents.
  2. Phone / Zoom consultation. A preparer reviews your situation, asks any clarifying questions, and confirms the scope.
  3. Document review. We reconcile your documents, identify missing items, and request anything outstanding through the portal.
  4. Return preparation. We prepare your federal and state returns and run a quality-control review.
  5. E-signature. You'll receive your return for review and sign electronically — secure, IRS-compliant, and fast.
  6. E-file & confirmation. We e-file and send your acceptance confirmation, with refund tracking instructions if applicable.

Quick Help

Common questions

What should I bring to my appointment?

ID, SSNs for everyone on the return, all W-2s and 1099s, business income & expense records, prior-year returns, bank info for direct deposit, and any IRS notices received.

How do remote appointments work?

After intake, you'll get a secure upload link plus a scheduled phone or Zoom slot. We review documents, prepare the return, and you sign electronically.

What documents are required?

It depends on your situation — at minimum we need identity verification, income documents (W-2/1099), and any deduction documentation. We'll send a tailored checklist after intake.

How do uploads work?

You can upload through your client portal or the TaxesToGo mobile app. All uploads are encrypted end-to-end and stored in our secure document vault.

What if I missed prior-year taxes?

We routinely prepare unfiled, prior-year, and amended returns. We can pull IRS transcripts to reconstruct income where needed.

Can I upload through TaxesToGo?

Yes. The TaxesToGo mobile app lets you snap photos of documents, submit your intake, e-sign, and track status — all securely.

What happens during a Zoom appointment?

We confirm identity, walk through your documents on screen, ask clarifying questions, and outline the next steps and timeline.

What is needed for in-office visits?

Bring the items in the 'In-office visit requirements' section above. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete check-in.

How long does preparation take?

Most individual returns are completed within 3–7 business days of receiving all documents. Complex business returns may take longer and we'll quote a timeline.

How fast will I get a response?

Within one business day. For urgent matters, call or text 725.234.2323 — or use the emergency direct line at 702.516.9216.
